ABOUT
KITCHEN TECHNO is a community-driven techno collective based in Austin, Texas, founded by Natch Nadjafi and Hana Sabri in 2023. Rooted in underground electronic music, it brings together events, a record label, KT Radio, and creative projects under one independent platform.
Built around a shared passion for music, curation, and community, KITCHEN TECHNO exists to create spaces where artists, dancers, and listeners can connect through focused musical experiences. Each project reflects the same commitment to authenticity, thoughtful programming, and a deep respect for techno culture
THE STORY
When Natch and Hana moved into their new home in Austin, they planned to remove the kitchen island to create a more open space. But growing up Persian, the kitchen is the heart of the home, where people naturally gather, cook, talk, and spend time together. So rather than taking the island out, they decided to give it a different purpose. They placed their mixer and decks on it and started mixing in the kitchen.
Little by little, friends began to join. Then friends brought friends. The kitchen slowly became a gathering point, with music at the center of it.
Over time, those nights grew into the foundation of what KITCHEN TECHNO is today.
NATCH & HANA
Their story began in Iran, where they first met just before Natch left the country to tour with his band. Hana later joined him in New York City, where music, nightlife, and community became a central part of their lives for more than a decade.
Before moving to Austin, they had already begun creating their own events in Brooklyn. Drawing from Natch's background in live music and Hana's years of training as an aerial dancer, they experimented with bringing music and performance together. Over time, their focus shifted more and more toward techno, shaping the direction they would later pursue together.
During the pandemic, they relocated to Austin, where they found themselves searching for the kind of music experiences they had come to value. Unable to find exactly what they were looking for, they decided to create it themselves.
While KITCHEN TECHNO has grown far beyond the kitchen where it began, its foundation remains the same: a love for techno, a sense of community, and a belief that the best experiences are built together.
